Starbucks Frappuccino

Project Launch – April 2009

At Blast Radius, we worked with the Starbucks Product, Brand and Marketing teams to help re-launch their Frappuccino brand.

Frappuccino was being radically changed with a new formula, new branding and new ways to customize the frozen beverage. Part of this re-launch included a web experience that introduced customers to the new recipe, and showcased to fans how they could have a Frappuccino "However you want it". 

As visitors customized their Frappuccino, a series of illustrations would appear and cycle to visually represent their beverage. The customer could then modify their illustrations to create their own creation, similar to how they crafted their own Frappuccino.

Once the custom Frappuccino creation was complete, the final illustrations could be published to a library of community submitted creations. After just a few weeks, over 75,000 unique submissions had been published to demonstrate the thousands of variations of the new Frappuccino.
